You guys remember the brown Mullen SD10 with the "warped and cracked apron" that I purchased and renamed "Jerry's Cherry"? Mickey, I know you remember it. Anyway I came to the owners rescue and bought it. You can search down a ways and find what I am talking about. Anyway, due to the fact that a good guitar should not crack and in fairness to the builder and maybe a lesson for a lot of us, here is the whole truth behind this cracked and warped front apron. I will show a few photos of the damage with the "chunk" of wood out of it and you can plainly see the screw threads where someone ran a screw into the bottom of the apron for some reason unknown to me. A screw without a pilot hole into the edge of a hardrock maple apron is sure to damage it.
This chunk was not put back in its place and glued so it was protruding appearing to be a warp in the apron. One photo shows a piece of the mica which I am using as a straight edge to show no warp in the apron. Since the mica needed to come off the front and the top deck mica was scatched with steel wool or sandpaper it is going to be replaced with black mica. Im sure the scratches were the result of someone trying to patch up the front apron and reglue the trim strips, got superglue where it shouldn't be and had a time getting it off.
There was a lot of interest in this guitar and even the word fraud was used so I wanted to let everyone know what I have learned about it. This will be one nice guitar soon.  The lesson is we should be careful about where we decide to place a screw in a guitar cabinet. This one caused a lot of problem and should not have happened. |

| Hi Jerry, I'm sure that Mullen will be better than new when you're thru with it, but what I would really like to know is how that blue spray painted Emmons from Louisiana turned out. |

Glenn, I just removed all the finish last Friday or Saturday and sanded about all day Monday. I am just getting on it but I hope I can show you some photos when the cabinet is refinished. It has beautiful birdseye veneer and the inlay wss in very good condition and cleaned up nice. The inlay was what I was most concerned about. Thanks for keeping tabs on that one. Watch for photos pretty soon.

Jerry,you are a master at this stuff,i need to get my Emmons back up to you for a complete rebuild but i can't bare to take that new Mullen G 2 into a smokey club. Rudy

| FYI super glue can be removed from 'mica using super glue solvent, without damage to the 'mica. |

Thanks Jerry Roller, Mullen is a reputable builder, and doesn't need a bad rap from someone that didn't know what they was doing. (or didn't care).
