Maurice Anderson.....

Post by David Wright »

Spend the morning with Maurice today, just had to record theses two things, we were talking about playing songs with no bar, and just how much is right under your Nose, in clip 2, just a ol Faded Love, played with some really nice corn & Cords... As many of you know and have scene at the dallas show, he plays a D-10, well, he's on the Bb 6th ..so much on this tuning, I must say, after 40 years of playing it, I only know a tenth of what is there...
I only wish all could spend the time with Maurice, one on one, and just sit and hear to him play, I hope you all enjoy this little bit of playing as much as I did today :D :D :D :D

He is without a doubt one of the greatest, most original musicians to ever play a steel guitar!

Fantastic!!!

Thanks for posting David!

Reece is such a consummate musician and gentleman.
Makes me proud to have owned - and still - play my '79 U12 MSA for so many years. And the steel's still going strong! Thank you, Reece! (And David).

What a great musician Reece is. He has surprised me at the Johnny High show in recent years when he has played a D10. I understand the commercial reasons why he does this.

David - you are very lucky to have access to such a great teacher and mentor as Reece.
Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. Telonics TCA-500, Webb 614-E,

David, thanks for posting this....and you are one of the outstanding contemporary players.

To Maurice......you are such a gentleman and a consumate player of the instrument! I have not recently told you how much I admire and respect your contributions, so please accept this genuine token of appreciation from an 80 year old hacker of the steel guitar.
