Mike I always enjoyed watching you play.
Especially uptempo songs.
I think this ballad is about as good as
it gets.

We can all tickle the strings, but now and then we hear someone who has the gift, the touch, Mr. Sigler is one of those rarities.

Hi Mike,

Very, very nice playing.

Which leads me to an interesting question: I'm wondering just how many people (after first hearing it) had a compulsion to get to his/her steel, and try to duplicate it? :)

Come on now, be honest... I admit, I for one did. Which only served to show me (once again, and still) even after years and years, that regardless, you may do someone else's tune, but you can't ever get their Soul into it, as they did.

That's always (both) amazed me, and has eluded me as well..

Since the forum should also be a fun place for it's steelers, maybe it would be good to hold a contest, in attempting that tune, and the winner would get a set of Jagwire strings. :D

How about it Mike? ;-)

Max Stuckey does a great version of this song. It's one of the songs he likes to play at our club jams.

Happy to admit I went right into the practice room after hearing it. I found the playing to be quite tasteful and inspiring.

I'd love to get the rhythm track for it, too.

The Great Rob Parker has it on one of His C.D.'s, and I'm sure he also has the rythem track of it.

Hello Mr. Sigler
Great job on the ballad. Very clean sound and intonation.
Your guitar of choice is obvious; what other gear did you use for the recording? Did you go direct to the board or mic the amp?
BTW, your set in Dallas this year was excellent, even with the unenviable task of following Mr. Franklin.

Thanks Guys for the nice comments.... i will have to see if i can find the masters on this song, that are still on adat.... it was done with a GFI ultra into a stereo steel preamp loop with a tubefex, direct to the board... (NO AMP !) goodrich 120 volume pedal and thats about it... This song was written by my guitar player back in the 1970's for a singer here in ohio named Donnie Bowser. I ask to record this song as a space filler on the album, and as of to date it is one of my biggest saleing Cds. It was an old rainy day in the studio that day, and i felt like picking. This was a home studio i might add. this Cd, was done on an 8 track ADAT system, unbealevable huh! But this is only one cut off the Cd. with many other great songs.
Thanks again for the kind words.. and i will see if i have tracks somewere!
