Before changing my MO and going to a laptop: Ever since the first biab I have been doing my songs on biab and then recording them on line out to my cassette recorder so I can have the cassettes as accompaniment on my gigs which I average two a week. In the last month the cassettes are recording very weak and are not usable. I have swithched tapes, cords, cassette recorders, demagnatized etc but to no avail. The vol on the songs in the computor is fine so it must be that I have a problem going from computor tp cassette recorder. As I say I have switched out everything. Ant suggestions will be appreciated. cc |

On SOME PC's there is a Line Out Volume control and that can be one problem.
You can check the Line Out. If you have a PC that has both a Speaker out and a Line Out, move the speaker connection from the Green Speaker jack to the Line Out and see if you get normal speaker volume. If you do, it's not a problem with the PC's Line Out, it's either a cable or a problem in the tape recorder.
What OS do you have and what sound card? That would help in troubleshooting. |

As a temporary fix, can you use a recording application to amplify the weak signal enough to make the recordings usable? |

thanks for the help fellows. I took apart my speaker that I plug the cassette recorder into and found gobs of corrosion. I cleaned and scraped, reassembled, and now all is well. I am still considering a lap top to take on gigs. I have been talking to the great guru on the left coast(Jim Baron) and that is how he does it. cc |

Start >Run> then type [sndvol32] (w/o brackets) into the field > OK... to bring up the volume control bank.
or
Start > AllPrograms > Accessories > Entertainment > Volume Control _________________ Lawyers are done: Emmons SD-10, 3 Dekleys including a D10, NV400, and lots of effects units to cover my clams... |
