Here is Jerry playing his custom Fender, backing up Connie Smith on Once a Day. Jerry is on-camera playing the turnaround at 1:20.

This must be a very early appearance by Connie Smith, too. She had not yet developed a slick stage presence, but she could belt it out just fine.

Awesome post, Lynn!

Here's the song that must have preceded Once A Day on this show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALFM3Wu9quQ&feature=related Jerry doesn't get much work on this one, but he's in there.

What a great clip. Can anyone tell if JB is using the E9 tuning?

He's just using a C6 tuning and playing 6ths on strings 1 and 4. But it is very fluid and sweet.

Belt it out is right - the Whitney Houston of 60s country! JB plays impeccable country fills but by this time, his heart and head were in Honolulu (and the rest of him followed shortly thereafter).
