"You Make My Dreams Come True" Bishop R.P. Hall

Post by Bishop Ronnie P Hall »

Hello my fellow steelers,
Here is a rendition of the Hall and Oates song, that I tried to play for my companion of forty-seven years. I hope I did`nt make too big of a mess with it. I hope somebody out there enjoys it! It was just an experiment! :? :)

Hi George! (Brown)
Thanks as always! My wife and I, are always having an anniversary! ;-) I have been one of the most fortunate among men to find what seems to be "the perfect partner" for me, by the grace of God. So yes, here we are, after "5 years of courtship", and "47 years of married life", and we still act like two young kids who just met! Thanks for the compliment! :D

Hi Bob! (Drawbaugh)
Yes, I guess it is kinda soulful, but does`nt "all" music come from the depths of our being anyhow??? Somehow, the inspiration comes, and "we" become the "instrument of creation", of sometimes "good" (music)or sometimes "bad"(music)(depends on one`s point of view, and likes, or taste, etc.). I just do my best, "good" or "bad", in the hope that it makes someone happy! :D
Be blessed my friend, and "thanks" again,

I really like your phrasing-if I close my eyes, it sounds like a trumpet or a sax. It looks like you just use your 1st finger and are playing single note runs most of the time, but sometimes ,esp. on other songs, I hear chords. So, I'm wondering what type of effects processor you are using? It's certainly very effective and suits your style very well. So, keep em comin', Rev.!!

Hi John! (McGlothlin)
I thank you, as always, for I am greatful for your support. You know John, one of these days I`m going to research this "thing" about "tone". I read a lot about such a "concern" here on the forum. You see the thing is, I dont know "tone" from "cabbage"!  I just plug the thing in, and let "er" rip!!! It just seems I just get lucky that way! The melody too! Would you believe that? It`s true! Again, I just do the best I can. Thanks Again!! Be blessed!

Hi Steve!, (Becker)
Good to hear from you. I`ve heard "that" many, many, times about, "phrasing" here on the forum, and other places around, and also "horns" of various types. To me it sounds like somebody choking a cat!!!, at times! Before I lost my legs from the knees down a few years ago, in an auto accident (I was the victim),I played a Sho Bud Pro I, that had (5) five foot, and (1)one knee levers. Which I purchased at a music store here in Detroit. Yes, I still have the Bud. I have since purchased a little Carter Starter, that I have modified somewhat, to fit some of my needs, hence the chord sounds. I`m still modifying it where I can. As for processors, I use a little reverb pedal, and whatever else I can borrow to experiment with, when I can. Remember, for me it`s just a hobby! Bottom line, I just do the best I can! Thanks Again! Be blessed!

Hi John! (Baldwin)
Thanks for the encouragement. I realize it may not be the traditional way, but if everybody played the same way, it would get to be pretty boring around the forum, so I keep trying to offer an alternative presentation, not a competitive rendering. (I could`nt if I wanted to anyway), I`m not that good! But if it brings a smile to someone`s face, then hallelujah! Thanks again!

Another one for the collection. I've been saving all your numbers on my hard disk. If they ever start a Ron Hall Fan Club I'll be one of the first to join. I've yet to hear a bad performance from you. :D

Hey Alan! (Brookes)
Wow!!! Man that is the kindest thing, that I believe anyone has ever said to me!!! Thank you so much! Although, if anyone did ever start a "Ron Hall Fan Club", I think I would have to ask them, "Is there something seriously wrong with you?"  But seriously again, "that", is the kindest encouragement, that anyone has ever said to me. Thanks my "friend"! Be blessed!
