tuning problem

Hope sone can help me, My fifth and tenth strings
B strings lower to Bb on my vertical lever. The
Tenth string lowers fine but the fifth string
will not come quite down to Bb,Ive screwed the
tuning nut all the way out and then back in slow
and it still wont come quite down to Bb.
any help would sure be apprecitated, thanks

Look at it up close and I bet you will see what is in the way.

Without knowing any more details, it sounds on the face of it like you need a longer lever-travel or, alternately, reposition the pull rod away fromt he cross shaft at the bellcrank and/or towards the finger head at the changer.

Bob...The lever stop may be contacting the stop screw before lowering string five to pitch (which requires more travel). Look on the underside of the guitar and you will notice an adjusting screw and nut on the lever. Loosen the nut and back the screw off slowly until when depressing the lever with your hand, the string in question lowers to the desired pitch. Then readjust the screw and tighten the locking nut. (You may also need to retune string ten.)
