Hey y'all. I just got an email from Billy informing me his new band "Stetson" with Rebecca Williams will be playing at the Ice House in Selma, NC on June 25.
Billy is a great guy and the Ice House is a great place for listening to good music.
I'm planning on going and invite pickers and music fans in Eastern NC to come on down. Hey Bowie, if you read this, save me a seat please.
Best wishes. Walter _________________ Emmons S10, p/p, Nashville 112, Zion 50 tele style guitar, Gibson LP Classic w/Vox AC30, Fender Deluxe De Ville and a Rawdon-Hall classical |

Walter -- My fiance and I have been wanting to head up there to the icehouse. This will be a perfect one. Get to meet you, Billy Knowles and hopefully some other NC steelers!
I'll let you know as the date gets closer. |

Hey Bill. I think you guys will like the Ice House. No smoke, no booze, no dance floor. Just a roomful of music lovers listening to great talent.
They really like steel guitar and make sure a lot of bands with steelers (and other good musicians and singers) get booked regular.
I saw Joe Wright up there a while back and everybody was real friendly and there's not a bad seat in the house. They have a website (Google Ice House Selma NC) that lists bands and schedules and tells you more about the place.
Hope to see y'all there.
BTW, Billy Knowles is THE pedal steel guitar mechanic in these parts of the woods as far as I have found. Try to meet him before you leave.

Walter, I have you down. Looks like this might be the first band to ever sell the place out on an inital performance!! I am excited to have them down. Rebecca is great (introduced in the Ice House as a guest with Clyde Mattocks' "Without Further Ado" band. Not only is Billy a fine steel player, the best steel rebuilder around, he ain't stupid; got some fine pickers and singers in Stetson plus Rebecca. Its going to be great!! _________________ Emmons LeGrande II D-10, Emmons LeGrande III D-10, Emmons LeGrande III S10, Boss Katana 100, Boss Katana 50, Nashville 112

I don't want to hear anyone in East or Central North Carolina complain that there's no place to go and hear real country music anymore. Bowie and his crew, Barbara and Danny have seen to it that the real stuff lives in these parts. This is the best audience a picker could ever ask for. Get out and support one of our real steel heros, Billy Knowles and you're going to be blown away by ReBecca Williams' singing. _________________ LeGrande II, Nash. 112, Fender Twin Tone Master, Session 400, Harlow Dobro, R.Q.Jones Dobro |
