hey my friend...thanks... well, they have a small shop in Novi Sad where they make those guitars but I think the final set up Mr. Papic does at his apartment, he is very particular about setting them up the right way and it takes him some time to do it and there is couple of steel players who would come over and try the guitar and only after everyone is happy with the pedal/lever action and tone ,guitar gets shipped...very low profile and mostly hand made but its worh the wait, at least to me..I had to wait over 2 years to get my maple/mahagony Promat but I didn`t mind waiting... you still pickin` a Sho~Bud..? love those too, I had few Sho~Bud guitars and they were all great guitars...any pickin` going on in Karney?

hi Bob,

thanks for your kind words, as far as undercarriage material goes, I have no clue ..I know that cabinet is made with 30 year old maple but I don`t know anything about making steel guitars..if you are really interested you can conntact Promat thru theur web site and ask them, I`m sure they will get back to you...

Finally Home

Post by Blaz Patty »

After a two-day trip in the city Novi Sad I have finally bring home my new pedal steel guitar PROMAT. Pedal steel is mostly hand made by mr.Dusan Papič and his son Slobodan Papič.

Guitar is fantastic, has a great sustain and great sound. Pedals and knee levers are comfortable, sensitive and have great responsiveness just exactly what I like.

I came home not only with new guitar but with awareness that I have unique instrument.

But I came home with another even greater awareness - to have new friends. I have personaly met mr. Dusan and Slobodan Papič builders of my guitar. Wich are great persons knowing what they are doing. I was invited to their house where we spend together a fantastic day playing my PSG and spending time together.

Day was great, weather was great, lunch was great, family Papič is great, Novi Sad is great and pedal steel guitar is great.

Thank you mr. Dusan and Slobodan for fantastic time in Novi Sad and for fantastic guitar. Will never forget my first visit country of Serbia.

See you,
Blaz Patty

hey Blaz,

grat pictures, wish I was there with you guys...I remember last time Aunt Mira made some good food and Dusan pulled out some good rakija (snaps) LOL... I`m sure you are happy with your guitar and rightfully so... I have 3 Promat`s and have no need for another guitar for the rest of my life...LOL...I do have 2 black guitars and may want to sell one just so I can order one in rosewood mica but I`m not sweating about that right now..even tho they are little different , one is cut back and another one full back body.Let Samo pick a little and see what he says...congrats on your new guitar and keep on pickin`...

Blaz, Congradulations on your new Promat. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine. You also spoke of another fact...Dusan is a fine gentleman who will go to any measure to assure you are 100% satisfied.

the biggest satisfaction for Mr.Papic is to watch a player pickin` on his guitar with joy and a big smile...I know that for a fact...
