I stumbled across this strangely wonderful David Byrne performance. David Byrne is such a weirdo, but I love him for just about everything he does. This is definitely a 'love it or hate it' performance.
Anyhow, there is a crazy pedal steel solo at 3:40 - I've never heard the instrument used in this way before. Anyone know who the player is?

Who is this steel player?

Nothing I'd listen to on a regular basis ,but..... pretty cool anyway. That is the cleanest, neatest distortion lead I've heard in a long time.Who ever it is ....GOOD JOB !

"Alternative Style" of Steel Playing
Well, I agree with Bob C about David Byrne, but that pedal steel solo is totally COOL!!! Great job, Mr. Kaphan!!!
