Hey Gary...I don't know Randy Major but if you can get in touch with him please do. One of the ideas of CISGA is to meet as many steel guitarists as we can. It is really unbelievable how many there are right in your own back yard sometimes and you don't even know about them.

We want to make sure that EVERYONE who plays steel or loves steel guitar music knows about the June 26 show. It is going to be something special! Lots of surprises on this one...

Billy...E-Mail me your final arrangements when you know for sure. Am finishing out the TENTATIVE staff band schedule. I know it will probably change 20 different times before all is said and done but have to start somewhere.

I just got off the phone with Michael Scott, and it IS confirmed, Michael, Don E. Curtis, and Tim Wallis will be there, and have a link-up to air the whole ball of wax on steelradio.com. Now, who could ask for more than that?
He also gave me contact with Jack Heern,
because he had expressed intrest in playing our show, and if you haven't heard Jack play, you ain't heard nuthin' yet!

Dear Rich and Mike, I will get a hold of Randy who now is in Human Resources at Hydro-Gear at Sullivan. I have known him since 1959 when I first worked for his Dad at Illinois Bell. Small world isn't it?

Yes, Michael, myself and Bob Momot are coming up, Tim's going to meet us there and SteelRadio.com will be broadcasting 'Live', on certain authorized portions of the show. So thanks Dean for the plug! And thanks to Rich Mounce for getting me a playing spot as I've heard that Crissy Corson is going to be in the Staff Band and it will be a treat to get to 'pick' with her. She is fantastic!
See you there! Also by the way, looking forward to hearing Dyke Corson too and my good pal Russ Wever...I'd come up just to hear him play! Not to mention Doug Jernigan, he just keeps getting better if that's even possible.

Don, you don't know how much I'm looking forward to picking with you as well. Thanks for the nice comments. It's gonna be one jam packed show especially now that you're on the list! Just can't wait.

Lyle, I think I've seen Randy play recently at the Red Barn in Tuscola, and also in Shelbyville. I think the name of the band is Battle Creek. He is sounding really good, and has some good tunes worked up.

Counting the days till the Peoria show!

See...That is what I mean! There are guys around that all of us don't know. Some in our area I am sure the guys around Decatur and Springfield don't know and guys down that way that we don't know. Need to get all of them involved with CISGA.

Don...It is our great pleasure and treat to have you as part of the Steel Jam 05. Really looking forward to hearing you play again. You sounded great when I heard you in Indy.

Will be great to see Michal, Bob and You. This is gonna be a great show. I know you haven't heard a lot of the guys we have scheduled on this show and I think you will be in for a treat also!

Rich-Did you ever get in touch with Brad Sarno? I'm sure Don, or someone at Scotty's can put you in touch. I called Jack Heern, and left a message on his machine, but haven't heard back as yet. I will try again later.

Hey Dean,
We contacted Brad, but he is already booked and can't make it.
You can easily tell by the posts here that this will be a Super Steel Show. We are all so excited about this. Hope to see alot of you turn out for our quarterly show in Bloomington next week too. That's Sunday, May 22nd at VFW. That one is sure to be a head-spinner, with Jerry (Muttonhead) Erickson, and Darrel Cummins, and an Open Steel Jam afterward.

Mike Lathim, (a.k.a. Mr. Taste) will be on guitar, and Jimmy Willis on drums. I forget who we have on Bass but it's probly Odie Fitchpatrick or Terry Burmeister, or both. Either way we're in really good shape for this show. I'm pretty sure Chrissy will be there too, so hopefully we'll get to hear her as well. She really is amazing on keys.
Ya'll come on out and let's get after it. This will be the "primer" show before the big one next month. Come early, and stay late.

Bobby...You are so right about the "local show" we are having on the 22nd. With Darrell Cummings and the one and only Jerry "Muttonhead" Erickson playing it should be a barn burner. Want to invite all the players to bring their guitars for a jam session after the show.

Rich, I was wondering if you could give the starting time and directions to the VFW in Bloomington next Sunday. It is great that Don Curtis and the Steel Radio people are coming and broadcasting. Don's a great teacher, took some lessons from him, great on theory of music, knows his stuff there. Scales he has more than you can believe. Sounds like this years event will be top notch for sure.

Hey Gary,
The Bloomington show starts at 3:00 p.m. and goes till 7:00, I think. We're trying to keep those times consistent for all of our quarterly shows. That's not to say that they couldn't change, but it gives you an idea what to expect anyway.

As for directions, I'm not that familiar with BMI, but if you come up 155N, you'll get off on Veterans Blvd, and go East (I think), and take a left on Morrisey Ave. There's a light on Morrisey and a car dealership on the corner there. There is a Casey's down on the left, not too far, and the VFW is basically behind that. It sits off the road a bit, but if you're looking behind the Casey's, you shouldn't have any trouble. There is a bowling alley or something in the same building as the VFW.
See you there, and be sure to bring your guitar. (One of them anyways. Probly your new Promat, I'm guessing)

If those directions are jacked up, I'm sure someone will chime in and straighten me out, and by all means, feel free.

Gary...Bobby is right on. When you get on Veterans Parkway just go to Rt 150 and turn left. I think it is marked 150 so it will be easier than looking for the street name. The VFW sits back off the road a little but you will have no problem finding it. The VFW has really advertised this show. Lots of radio ads and newspapers. They actually messed up on the time and have it advertised from 3:00 - 8:00 instead of 7:00 but no biggie. If we have a good turnout like I think we will we will probably just run til 8:00...LOL...Looking forward to seeing everyone this Sun and of course you are right about Steelradio being at the June show. GOnna be a great one. Doug Jernigan and all the guys picking!

Correct me if I am wrong but Steel Radio and Don Curtis will be at the June Show not the May Jam. Attention Gary Sills!

Yes, that's right, it is the June 26th show and I'm looking forward to it. We're are coming up in the Scotty's Tour Bus and unfortunately Brad cannot make it. But Michael Scott & Tim Wallis from SteelRadio.com will be broadcasting certain authorized portions of the show. Bob Momot is gonna help us drive as we've got gigs the night before the show. And then I'm honored to have graciously been given a spot to play, and you know I love to play. And I certainly appreciate the nice comments from Gary Sill. "Thanks Gary" It's great to see your name on the roster...
Like I mentioned before I'm personaly looking forward to hearing Dyke Corson, Russ Wever and Gary Sill, but mostly looking forward to picking with the house band with Russ Wever on Bass and Crissy Corson on the Keys! SWEET!
Don't miss it!! See you there,
Sincerly,
Don E. Curtis

Hey Don!
So glad you personally confirmed your presence at our show!
I haven't heard from Jack Heern, as yet, but if he don't confirm, that means I'll have to play, so if you play your cards right, and say a couple of nice things about me, I might get you up to sing one on my set.
Don't forget, we have some great players from Iowa and Wisconsin, ( Dale Thomas & Mark Krutsky, hope I'm not leaving anyone out), plus some unknown named Doug Jernigan coming, so it's gotta be a GREAT SHOW!!!!!
See ya'all there!!
