Hey bay area steelers, come hear the wonderful singer Amee Chapman backup my blonde and beautiful '95 Carter S12. We'll be playing at the Hotel Utah, starting at 9:00.
Hope Amee doesn't read this post!

Thanks for the well wishing Brad. Alan, Amee does a show of all her own original music, in the Americana-Roots Rock vien. Her CD, all fine SF players, is very nicely produced, but included no steel guitar (a deficency I have fixed). The other lead is an acoustic Mandolin, and the combination of the two is really nice. It's been a real pleaure to work with this band (a FINE bass player and drummer too). If your looking for Merle or Tammy, you won't find it but you will hear some very interesting songs about some very interesting folks, sung by one of the most outstanding young singers I've ever had the pleasure to play with.
And one thing for sure, you'll hear a TON of steel guitar!
Hope to see you both, as well as any other forumites who can make the gig!

Uh-oh Brad, David said "Frisco." You aren't going to admonish him? But then, folks from the Foothills play by different rules than the flatlanders.
...I remember reading ahwile back that there is some sort of loose movement afoot to make it acceptable for locals to use that term.
Sorry I missed it, but I will be going to The City to the Biscuits and Blues Club Saturday evening to check out the Campbell Brothers Sacred Steel group.
Wow-two steel gigs happening in San Francisco in the same week-imagine that!

OK, no more "Frisco", for penance I'll allow everyone in the SF Bay area to refer to my hometown of Placerville, by it's 1850's name of "Hangtown" (this will plume ranckle any new residents from San Jose, or further south)(:>)
BTW, had a really great time, met some really nice local folk (including one steeler), and already looking forward to my next appearance in the area.
