Cumquat Records
Does anyone have any info on Cumquat Records? I thought that Dallas Clarke was taking care of the business since Bruce passed away.
I have a friend who placed an order for 5 CDs in January. He paid with a credit card. He has received his credit card statement with the charge on it but has not received the CDs or any explanation from Dallas. I e-mailed Dallas on 3 different addresses but 2 of them were not good. My friend e-mailed Cumquat but received no answers. Is Cumquat still legitimate and still reliable? Anyone else have any experiences with Cumquat?? I'm glad I got every CD they had before Bruce passed away.
Has anyone had any recent communication with Cumquat?

I ordered 6 CD's in mid-October and it was on my OCT statement. Since I hadn't gotten them a month later, I wrote an email asking about it mid-November. I did not get a response, and I was bumming out about it (certain I'd been had).
To my surprise, they all showed up towards the middle of December. They are wonderful CD's and worth the price, but I am afraid Cumquat aren't very communicative or prompt. I would tell your friend to hang in there -- they most likely will show up eventually. I wish there was somewhere else to get them from in a hurry...

Same experience
I ordered a couple cds last year, and it took a few months for them to arrive. In the mean time, no one at cumquat answered any of my email. Hopefully your friend will have theirs by the summer!

I also noticed a drop in response time and slow communication. Maybe if enough people let them know about it, they may get the hint. It's a wonderful site with amazing music. It would be a shame to see it decline to the point where people shy away from them just because of lack of follow through on orders and communication.

Cumquat records
I have just received an e-mail from Dallas Clarke regarding the Cumquat CDs.
Since Bruce passed away, Dallas has been dealing with the closing of internet accounts, dead e-mail addresses, broken links that are creating much confusion. He is also dealing with as many as 1000 junk e-mails a day. Dallas is also in the process of designing a whole new website which is about half-way completed. The current site will remain on line until the new one is ready and then it will change overnight. We will be informed.
In the meantime, he is filling the orders that he has but we have to have a little patience. I'm not sure but once he gets everything straightened out I'm hoping he might produce more CDs. Especially the projects that Bruce had planned. I sure hope so because they did a terrific job on every CD so far.
Encourage him.

Had some problems with some of Cumquats CD's where my car's CD player couldn't read the last 6 to 8 songs on the disc. It would play about 2/3's of the songs on the disc, then it would freeze up, and eventually eject the disc out.
Thought it was my player, but when playing back my other non Cumquat CD's, they play back flawlessly.
Anyone have experienced this problem?
BTW, I tried burning a copy using popular American brand CD's it plays back with no problems.
I'm convinced the problem is the brand of blank CD's they are using.
Just had a problem with one of their CD's. The laser on all of my CD's players couldn't read it.
E-mailed Cumquat about 10 days ago, so far no answer.
They mentioned all these problems they are having, but it's funny that Bruce never had these problems when he was alive.

Aloha Ebb, I spent almost $350.00 on my last order. It took almost 3 MONTHS to get here.
After a few e-mail attempts, Cumquat said the reason for the delay was supposively due to a strike at the local post office?
Matt, try making a copy of the CD if you have a CD burning program like Nero. It has solved some of my disc problems as I've said. Problems is, you won't have the original CD anymore, and you'll have to make a label for the CD.
Andy, I've burned a lot of CD's with a computer using a lot of different American brands, and I've never had playback problems with any CD player whether it was a home unit or in the car.

I wish Cumquat had that option.Sounds like you guys should convert to digital downloads

I haven't ordered any Cumquat CDs since Bruce passed away. Simply because there is nothing new released since Bruce passed. I never reported a problem with any of them but when Bruce realized something wrong with anything,-whether it was a missing track, an error on the song listing or a graphic error,- he would replace everything. I have the whole collection of his Hawaiian CDs. I admired Bruce for always striving to make everyone happy and satisfied. As far as I'm concerned, he was OK.
