This is first Bouree from J S Bach's B minor partita for unaccompanied pedal steel guitar, on the GFI steel guitar, 12 string extended E9 tuning, Lace Sensor Alumitone pickup, thru Boss GX-700 pre-amp, played by Doug Livingston.

... but Ave Maria is the one I think I will replace because my friend pointed out a wrong note in the arrangement, and there are plenty of "strong but wrong" notes in the playing. Plus I think the tone is dorky.
Here is the Ave Maria arrangement. I posted it on the Forum last year.
Next to last line, last bar, first note is bogus: should be F# in the melody before the E.
The E in the inner voice 2.5 bars later is F# in the original (just like bar 5) but I changed it to E to make it more country.
Now that is very impressive! I love some classical music and this is one of my favorites. Never heard it on steel. Not only is it an amazing accomplishment to be able to play this classic, but to play it on pedal steel is amazing!
My favorite is Beethoven's "Fur Elise" Love to hear that Earnest

you need to get this stuff in tabledit so we can read it
here is a little example of air on a g string in sneakys b6 tuning
then we can trade tef files
the ave maria is over the same chords as the first prelude from the wtk so i think you might have some legitimate license on the arrangement
tone aside the thing that was nice about it was the flow since where more bar movement is involved chopiness is harder to disguise
"Earnest" is a treasure. He is equally at home playing jazz and country.
Every so often he accompanies a singer named Kathy Robertson. On these occasions there is no guitar player, and Earnest plays every chord, fill, and ride all night long. Watching these performances is a magical, almost religious experience.
Hey Doug, how come you never play gigs with the GFI? I almost always see you playing your Sho-Bud.

Hey Earnest, back when I was a kid taking piano lessons, I fell in love with a Bach invention, the name of which escapes me, but the melody, at least for the first half is still in my mind. Is there a book of Bach Inventions that I can buy that will refresh me? I'd love to take a crack at it. It think it would sit well on the E9th. If I get really stuck, I've got a 101 year old piano teachin' aunt who could probably still remember which number of Invention it was.
