Ray Price Shuffle Styles for Band in a Box

Post by b0b »

The forum is now selling Jim Baron's Ray Price Shuffle Styles for Band-in-a-Box. This package includes 8 BIAB style files and instructions for using them. Delivery is via email. The cost is $9, payable via PayPal only.

To hear samples of the styles and order them, please visit http://steelguitarmusic.com/biab.html.

I process these orders manually, so please be patient. You'll get the email with attachments when I actually see the order in my inbox.

My thanks to Jim Baron for making this offer possible. All proceeds go to help support the Steel Guitar Forum.

You're talking about the sound player gadgets on the web page advertising the styles. Those work best if you have Quicktime installed. They are MP3 samples.

This is not a problem with the styles themselves, which are Band-in-a-box .STY files.

You can download the sample MP3's right here:

RP-Shuff.sty
This is the regular shuffle, no walks going on.
http://soundhost.net/bigjim4b/Crazy_Arms_RP-Shuff.mp3

RP1451wk.sty
Walks going from 1 to 4 and 5 to 1 chord.
http://soundhost.net/bigjim4b/Crazy_Arms_RP1451wk.mp3

RP-Trip.sty
This style allows for an optional triplet before the walk.
http://soundhost.net/bigjim4b/Crazy_Arms_RP-Trip.mp3

RP-walz.sty
Ray Price shuffle waltz, for a song like β€œ24th hour”.
http://soundhost.net/bigjim4b/24th_Hour_RP-walz.mp3

These are BIAB styles, Ernest. They aren't songs. They are files that you load into Band-in-a-Box to make your chord progression sound like a Ray Price song.

Ho Bob, nice stuff, very inspiring many thanks. I;m 3 days into biab and getting a blast from the jazz brush shuffles in real drums, would it be possible to combine real drums with your shuffles, that would be awesome

That would be a question for Jim Baron, Kevin. I really don't know how to use "real drums" in BIAB.

B.U.M.P. again

Seriously, these styles are a "must have" if you use BIAB as accompaniment for practicing steel guitar. They really get you into the groove.

Still selling a couple of these each week. They're really the best country styles for BIAB. Jim & friends studied the Cherokee Cowboys sound very closely to develop these instrument patterns.
