Update on the MASGA jam!
Joe Smith of Charlotte has volunteered to give a C6th seminar at aproximately 12:00 (noon) on Saturday, June 11th.
If anyone has heard Joe play, you know he is well qualified to teach the C6th.

Hey Folks:
Make you reservations now! I suggest calling the Econolodge at the given # above to get the special rate of $43.99 for a double. Prices special for the MASGA Event (Make sure you tell them you are with MASGA steel guitar event).

Make your plans now to come join in on ER Chandler's and Carl Eplings's big MASGA Event. If you've attended one of these Kannapolis Jams and show before you know what I am talking about.

There's even going to be a free Seminar on (C6) given by Mr Joe Smith on Sat.

The Great McCoy Bros will be our back up band. Hall of Fame member Herby Wallace plus the super picker Clyde Mattocks will be performing. Super Hank William's (sing-a-like) Chris Malpass will be coming along with Clyde. (He is a Fantastic singer of Hank Williams songs) At the last show in Kannapolis he brought the house down with all of Hank's songs.

For those of you that have never attended before, you need to brush the dust off that guitar and come join in. You don't want to miss out on the fun and fellowship.

If you need more information you can call ER Chandler at tel #704-982-8952 or Contact Glen Lanning (President of the MASGA) at #252-566-4203 or Ken Latchum (VP) #434-251-1207.

Lets all get out and support this great event Sat June 11th and 12th. I promise you! you will not be sorry.

More information will be posted soon such as Directions to event plus more motel information.

Regards
Ken Latchum
VP MASGA

I just found out that Chris Malpass has been invited to appear at the Steel Guitar Convention in St. Louis at the invitation of Don Helms. So come to Kannapolis and hear him before the "Big Boys" get to experience him. You won't be disapointed!

I am going to try and make it, at least on Saturday. Its one of my favorite shows and the folks are first class and I get to meet and chat with my NC Buddies from many years ago. Tell the cooks to come up with that good pot roast, some of the best around.
regards

Well I have it on my calendar and am looking forward to a relaxing weekend with friends. Many of you have been asking me if I will have seats with me. I will be bringing along a limited supply of the now famous Walker Seat "Professional Players' Chair". If you are interested in getting one there please e-mail me or post here so that I can insure that I bring enough. If you haven't yet decided which seat you would like please visit my web site and view the different models. www.walkerseats.com

Look forward to having a great weekend with all of you.

Hope to see you there. If anyone who thinks they should have received a newsletter and did not receive one, please email me. I did a complete dump of the MASGA database and sent out a newsletter to everyone in that data dump - 350 newsletters. Please do not hesitate to let me know if I missed someone.

Thanks and hope see you in Kannapolis!!

Glen-
Thanks for letting me know about your MASGA Jam in plenty of time! I have it posted on our Steel Guitar Calendar at www.steelguitarshows.com.

Michael Scott at SteelRadio.com is also airing a weekly Steel Guitar Calendar promo. It's a two minute update on steel guitar shows that are going each week.

Hope you don't mind, but I mentioned your name in the promo...in a nice way...thanking you for e-mailing me your info for the MASGA show in Kannapolis on June 11 & 12. The promo airs about 12 times a day and will promote your show the week of June 6.

God's best, and here's to a great turnout.

Fellow players, this is a great place to meet our friends who we do not have chance to see much thru the year...This location is excellent for NC, SC, VA , Ga. and East Tenn., even better if you live in Charlotte like Joe , Buster and I , who I also don't get to see much thru the year..go figure...

See you all on the Saturday lineup......

IF you don't know me you'll recognize me, I'll have a Steel Guitar, I'll be wearing sneakers and maybe wearing a hat...oh..and driving a van...

I regret that I won't be able to make this show as scheduled, but I will be working with Con Hunley in Nashville this Saturday at the Fan Fair. I do want to thank E.R. Chandler for inviting me and I really wanted to be there, but I was obligated to work with Con on Saturday. I hope to make the next show in Kannapolis.

I also regret I will be unable to attend. Unexpected things have arisen that make it impossible to attend. I really did want to make this event. You will have a good time wiht the people that I know will be there. They are as good as anything you would ever expect to see and more. Clyde, Vernon, and Chris Malpass will definately entertain you. And, the other star performers are as good as anything you will see in St Louis or anywhere else. Be sure and check out Clydes CD. If you are a steel guitar freak...you will not be disappointed.
