Please vote (a chance to get lap steel into the UK charts)

Post by Fred Kinbom »

Dear fellow forum members,

My lap steel tune "Isolation Song" is one of 573 songs from which 40 will be selected for the "Storm The Charts" campaign - an effort to get independent music into the official UK charts. To vote in the first round (voting for this round closes by the end of Tuesday, UK time), please follow the link in the news section of my website to vote:

http://www.fredkinbom.com/news.html

A short youtube "campaign video" for my song can be viewed here:

Many thanks for your time and support! It is a long shot, but who knows! :)

Once you have voted for "Isolation Song", feel free to send an e-mail to info AT fredkinbom DOT com to take part in a random prize draw where five voters will receive a free copy of my album "Hedgehogs & Elephants" as thanks for taking the time to support me by voting. :)

(Thanks to Aël in France for the photo of the CD!)

And naturally, please feel free to spread the word! :)

All the best,

Fred

Thanks a lot Jason, Roger and Tom, and anyone else who has voted! :)

And if anyone else would like to give it 30 seconds of their time it is very much appreciated (and do shoot me an e-mail if you do to take part in the album prize draw :)).

Thanks again for the support!

Alas now I am slipping behind! :( So any votes within the next 7 hours (before this round closes at 01:00am UK time) to turn this round would be G R E A T!

And please feel free to ask others to vote too. :)

Thanks!

Thanks a lot to everyone who voted!

Hmm - with 123 votes, my song was #36 of all 573 tracks in number of votes. But I did not go through to round two, while some songs with as little as 6 (!) votes did. This group-of-5-knockout-system could be described as flawed... :(

The Storm The Charts campaign will go on for another 9 weeks, so "Isolation Song" will be back in the vote next week for anyone who likes to vote (the CD giveaway draw offer stands for the whole run of the campaign), but this week was it for my bugging people about voting, rest assured of that (unless it heats up at some later stage). ;)

Thanks again for your support!

About that prize draw for a copy of the "Hedgehogs & Elephants" CD, the five winners are:

Walter in Western Australia.
Eric in Texas, USA.
Ken in Lewes, UK.
Becki in California, USA.
Lenny in California, USA.

Congratulations to the winners and thanks to each and everyone who voted in the Storm The Charts campaign (which is still running, but the voting system has changed, so supporting a particular artist is not possible anymore) for your support!

For anyone else who may want a copy of "Hedgehogs & Elephants", the webshop is always open here. ;)

Cheers,

Fred
