I believe I read in the paper today that Dan Dugmore was named steel guitar instrumentalist of the year. There were other musician awards as well, but I only remember the steel player...

Larry, I know that Dan Dugmore has been around a long time, but that surprises me. I wonder who is making these choice's?
There are a lot of great steelers around that are setting behind the scenes, like Bobbe S.,Sonny G., Weldon M.,Stu B., Lloyd G.,Mike Smith, MIke Johnson, not to mention the guys out front that are working daily. Paul F, Tommy W. and the beat goes on and on. And to top it off, start with the guitar players, drummers, bass, keyboards, fiddlers.
Well enough of that; makes me wonder who's calling the shots..........

Boy have I messed up! When naming names, I left out John Hughey, who I know well, and John if you read this, "I bow before thee and humble thyself"!
And to Finis Spier, I just plain forgot about that crazy cajun "Jay R" and his protege "Bouncin' Bobby G."
