Lace pickup wiring

Post by Joe Delaronde »

Bought a Lace pickup. Nice looking unit and light as a feather.

What value pot controls should I use? 250K or 500k??
Thanks

For steel guitar 500k has been the norm for as long as i can remember for any pup you have in your guitar, and i'm asuming your talking about your volume pedal pot.

Roger
I know about the Volume pedal pots, but was wondering about the Lace pickups since they are a different breed than the large coil units.

Look at the alumitone as just another pup, it does'nt require anything special, use it with what ever pedal you've been using. Hope this helps!
If you allready have it mounted and might be wondering about the spacing between pup and strings, it's 2 quarters recomended but just use your ears to satisfy yourself

Just got an email reply from the pup manufacturers;

The Lace Sensor Tone Bar pickups are designed around a 250k pot, and a .022 cap. Feel free to experiment, however as you increase the value of the pot, your tone will become brighter.
