...greetings from Minnesota!

I've been playing guitar for 40 years or so, including a fair bit of bottleneck slide in various tunings. I've become more and more enamoured with lap steel as the years have gone by, and my dear wife presented me with a Recording King RG-31 for Christmas. I've restrung it in C6, bought a big fat Dunlop bar, and am slowly finding my way around a completely unfamiliar tuning - and realizing that it actually does make sense.

Looking forward to being part of this community - although I suspect I'll be in 'sponge mode' for quite a while Smile

Cheers,
David

Welcome to the forums David! What part of Minnesota? I went to high school in Rosemount and lived in Apple Valley.

I'm in the Chanhassen/Chaska area - southwest suburbs of Minneapolis... moved here from California about 16 years ago. Looks like we're staying Smile

David,

Welcome to the Steel Guitar Forum, the best of its kind anywhere.

And you're right, it's a great place to "soak up" the combined knowledge and experience of all involved.

Best of luck with your playing.

Aloha,

Josh
