Who has replaced the tuners on a Fender Custom/Dual Pro?

I've recently acquired a spare set of tuning pans for my T8 custom, some of which have some stripped gears. I was talking to Jim Palenscar about having him completely replace the tuners on these, but I had trouble visualizing what the modified slotted pans would look like. Could anyone post any pictures of what this would look like? Would you recommend this mod?
