Post by Walter Stettner »

Good Morning,

Winter's back in Austria, we had more snow on the ground this morning and a cold wind blowing...

Here's some good ol' Western Swing for you, from 1977:

Enjoy the music!

Is the steel player Speedy West? I like the singer, woderfully old fashioned. By the way the winter returned here also, enough is enough!

IMHO, the single string rides were not as fluid or as creative as Joquin's would have been. What era and area did this recording come out of ?

The year was 1977 and the band was Bob Wills' Texas Playboys, with Leon McAuliffe on steel, Johnny Gimble and Keith Coleman on Fiddles, Smokey Dacus on Drums, Bob Kizer on Guitar, Joe Ferguson on Bass and Vocals, Al Stricklin on Piano and Leon Rausch on Vocals. :)

Kind Regards, Walter
