Apparently Gram is pointing out Ben Keith in the audience. The steel player is probably Neil Flanz. Great work, whoever it is!

Hi b0b, I believe that is Neil playing on that "73 tour and that particular cut is from a live radio program. Great stuff, I have the cd from that and Neil plays some awesome steel on several cuts.
thanks,
Billy

Great player!
I have a CD I made from a Sho-Bud instruction album that Neil plays/narrates. He is very precise, and almost comical when he narrates the lick slowly.
I am still learning some of his licks.

I don't know how anybody can tell who it is from looking at the film, I sure can't. I'd go with Neil Flanz myself, but then Al Perkins might be an educated guess as well.
