ZumSteel Stage Ones
I'm sure most of you know Doug, but in case there is someone who hasn't had any dealings with him & maybe looking at a more economical way of getting started on pedal steel....I would definitely recommend him and his guitars. I have been nothing but impressed with the quality and tone of my Stage One, for the price! Did I mention I love it? I'm sure some day I will want to move up to a more professional model, but at this point I can see no reason to do so. In fact, my thinking is that if I decide to purchase a "pro model" later; I will more than likely keep the Stage One! It's a great grab'n-go guitar that has a BIG sound in a small package. That sucker sounds great through a Goodrich Matchbox & a Peavey NV112 or Session! JMHO, "keep steelin'"!!

Stage One
I highly recommend the Stage One, as a aspiring beginner I have had a great time learning on this PSG.

I can vouch for Doug being a great guy and one of our favorite members at The Ozark Steel Guitar Association in Branson. I have heard the Stage One played by several and it is a solid and simple unit that looks and sounds great.

Fully equipped for the beginner to intermediate player.
Association member, Ed Javner, really likes his Stage One and he's sounding better at each Jam !!

New Stage Ones in stock
Hey Doug,
Couldn't help but notice that you have an extra knee lever (LKV) on your steel; it that something that you make available as an add-on to customers who have already purchased? I would be interested if that addition is something that could be installed by a novice out in the field; or possibly to send it back to you for installation if cost is not prohibitive? Thanks, Roger.

I received my red Stage One today and it is, without any doubt, awesome. The underside is clean and thoughtfully designed, with no pedal clatter like I got with my old Sho-Bud. The finish is beautiful, the tone full and clean even when played through my Line6 Spyder amp. I can make it growl or peal like a church bell. It may be an "economy" steel, but there is no skimping on quality. Pedal and knee lever action is solid and true.
Ladies and gents, if you're trolling the classifieds looking for a reasonably priced steel that will deliver the goods, this is it. I have no regrets and look forward to many years of pleasure with this great guitar.
