First in years, jam set for March 13 in Greeneville at East View Recreation Center from 10-6. Mike Archer and Tony Dingus are playing along with several others, I hope. Large room plenty of space for several players.
Easiest directions are from Morristown direction and from Johnson City direction is 11E, exit off to Snapp Ferry Rd. at end of ramp turn left, 2nd traffic light turn left on Tusculum Blvd. 1st traffic light turn right onto Bernard Ave. immediately turn left into parking at Rec. center. If you circle around to the back of the building you can unload right at the door.
Any Question call me on cell, 423-823-2962. Hope to see a large turnout.
For everyone with GPS systems the address is 456 E. Bernard Ave. 37745.

Usually the gym is used for basketball on Saturdays, if the season is over by the jam date we may move into the gym. Would love to fill the gym with players and spectators.

Anna and I would love to come but we will be going to the Bristol Steel Jam that Mike and Tony are having.I know there will be a problem with Motels as NASCAR will be in Bristol and the Motels are all booked and prices are sky high.I do be leave Anna and I had a Steel Guitar Jam in Greeneville back in 2006 with George Kimery getting the band together and Bob Hayes giving us a hand. We had Herby Wallace,Albert Svindll,Tony Dingus,Roger Kelly,Bob Hayes,a husband Wife team both playing,Joe Smith from Charlotte N.C.,Bob Loveday, and a few more I can't remember their names and myself Sam White.WE had it at the Holiday INN right on 11-E.Wish we could make it but I promised Mike and Tony we would be at the Bristol Steel Guitar Jam.I know George Kimery and Bobby Loveday had one about two years ago in Newport TN.at the holiday INN if I'm not mistaken.I know Goerge has been busy playing gigs and Bobby got hurt.

Hi Tony and Mike Anna and I decided to change our minds and come to Greeneville to that Jam.WE know a lot of people there and we can get some of our friends there to come with us.Is the hall down near the College??The one in Greeneville is longer and there may be more guys there. We will be able to stay with our friends there as we will not need a motel. Will there be a charge for people that will be coming to hear the Steel Guitar players and will there be a band??.

No there is no charge for anyone for this. The recreation center is at the corner of Tusculum Blvd and Bernard Ave, where the swimming pool is located.
Glad you are coming looking forward meeting you.

Looking forward to it John. I will call Bobby Loveday in Sevierville and Tommy Smith in Newport and tell them to come on up and to spread the word. Hope this works out well and that you will do it again. Always love hearing some good steel picking.

I could have probably gotten a band or maybe even George Kimerys band, that would have cost. I figured maybe if this one goes over well we may work on that the next time. If the acoustics in this room is bad then I may get the VFW next time.

Hey John, sounds llike a fun time, hope Dingus and
Archer is on proper medication for the event, they tend to be a little rambunctious if not proper medicated.
