Gonna be in Corpus Christi for a week beginning Feb 23. Any recommendations for some good live PSG honkytonk music in the area. Maybe gonna travel to San Antonio for an evening during the stay. Would love to hear some of the good stuff.
Looking for suggestions.
Thanks a bunch in advance.

On Saturday, 2/27, I'll be at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Seguin TX (NE of San Antonio) with the Tom Teboe Band. ULTRA-traditional country music, completely 1950s-60s classics. You'll like it.

Ray, if you chose to see Herb you would never need to go near San Antonio. Take I 37 North to Three Rivers and Hwy 72, take that east to Kenedy. First stop light there will be Hwy 123, take that North to Seguin. It's a short cut I take at times, I bypass San Antonio and connect back to the interstate north of Seguin at San Marcos. It's not a bad drive, you may even say it's scenic in it's own way.

My son lives in Corpus, he says there's not that much there for what you're looking for - he suggested maybe the Back Woods in Ingleside, that's over the Intercoastal Canal just North of CC.

This comes from Tom Teboe's website:

2/27/2010 9:00 PM at Seguin KC Hall
1015 S. Austin, Seguin, Texas 78155
Cost: 8.00

Come on out to the Seguin KC hall for a night of musical entertainment and dancing. The KC hall is non smoking and boasts a huge dance floor. It is BYOB and they sell beer and set-ups. Plenty of seating available. Please call 830-303-6860 for more information and directions!! Come out and see us!!

Finally got an IP address from the WiFi.
Thanks for the opportunity updates & info fellas.
Gonna see what the better half has in mind. Maybe come to see you Herb. Hafta see what Saturday looks like.
Willie's in Corpus Christi Sat. nite but the show is sold out.
Certainly like this Texas weather. Even though it was 31 deg. the past two nites with frost on the windershield, there's no snow on the ground and in the afternoon it gets warm. Nice.
Little lady is out deep sea fishin' at the moment. I know better that to go out on one of them rockin' and rolllin' floating bobbers. Maybe she'll indulge me with a trip in return.

We'll keep ya posted.

Ray, Willie's gonna have a hard time being in 2 places at once - Sat night he will be here in Mission..think it is Friday in Corpus.

And your wife is fishing offshore? It's usually slow for that this time of year, more bay fishing. Red Snapper season is open, but only for state waters. I have heard tuna are being caught but may have to go a long way for that. Hope she has a good time and brings home some supper. Smile

Enjoy the weather, you came in right when that front hit, as you can see it doesn't last long.

I agree! Slap some clear coat over the sticker so it doesn't get worn off.

Herb, thanks so much for the hospitality and wonderful show Saturday night. Your bandmates get a big, heartfelt thanks from us too.

I owe ya big time for that 4 hour lesson.

Ann and I marveled at the wholesomeness of the "Texas Dance Hall" environment. Adults, teens, little ones, all dancing, mingling and having a good time. We had never before experienced what must be an old time Texas tradition. The numbers may be down from years gone by, but they'll never go to zero.

I just found five of your lessons occupying a folder in my filing cabinet (got 'em at ISGC). Osmosis doesn't work I guess. Being near them doesn't help a bit, so I'm breaking them out of the plastic bags and digging in.

The journey of a thousand miles...

Thanks again.

Now dig out your red pencil Very Happy
