Folks I have not been here in many months. Someone sent me an e-mail saying I sent out a mass e-mail asking for pictures.

First of all, I have no idea how to send out mass e-mails. Second I'm working like a dog in a government cubicle and don't really have time for much else.

And third, I am totally clueless about this topic. If someone wants to clue me in, I'm all ears.

Thanks!

Tom, I DID NOT accuse you of sending anything. I received a mass email spam from your address. I also stated that this kind of thing has been happening and that you MAY be infected. There have been numerous email spam issues of late...I was being a pal and seeing if you were aware that pictures were going out IN YOUR NAME, I did not ask for pictures from you. SYCSIUYA! Mad

Chris, your name was on the list of folks who received the same email, as was Herb Steiner. You know, I'm sorry to have ever contacted Tom about this. No good deed goes unpunished. And...if you by chance have a pastor...he/she IS a person too, with feelings and faults. Sad Confused Muttering

Someone infiltrates someone's PC and Rogue "bots" are set up in unsuspecting users PC's. They hijack a name from the persons address book and spoof messages using that person's name. The person who's name was used is clueless and not to blame. However, people get the SPAM with that person's name as the originator and then assume it came from them.

It happens all the time. My hotmail account was hijacked from someone's e-mail address book and SPAM was sent out with my hotmail e-mail address as the originator. Nothing I could do about it.

My brother sent me some wonderful pictures form the 30, 40s, 50s and 60s of famous people when they were very young. I passed these pictures on to old friends, family and etc. Please see the names below. I erased the e-mail addresses for obvious reasons:

Old pics - YOU HAVEN'T SEEN SOME OF THESE BEFORE‏

I am always appalled by the hysteria some people generate hen WE DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THEM! -L-

Mod, please lock this thread. I think it needs to go no further.

My work email address was hacked years ago. Now everyday at work when I sift through the spam emails I see at least 20 or so allegedly from MYSELF selling all kinds of crap. Lately I am apparently in the Russian mail order bride business after having made mt fortune in penis enlargement. It used to upset me but now its just part of the show.

Gary,

Tom didn't get hacked. He accidentally sent the pictures to me in a group of people he meant to send them to. I simply asked if he sent the email to me, as I recognised the 2 players mentioned, and his work email, I couldn't understand why he'd send it to me. I asked, and things have spiraled into something else. Oh Well

We've been having one in Iowa about someone you know "a friend" thinking you should check out this You Tube video - seems harmless enough - Until you try to open it - it grabs everyone in your address book and forwards it on with your name as the sender
