Ronnie Milsap- Marty Stuart Show

Post by Kevin Hatton »

Did anyone catch Ronnie Milsap on The Marty Stuart Show this week? Just classic country singing. He was in great form. Also a great performance by Connie Smith. We are lucky to have this show on RFD T.V. Gary Carter doing on a superlative job on steel guitar. Marty Stuart ripping it up on Claremce White's Telecaster on a guitar instrumental.

I really like Marty's show and TruCountry also. I can't believe that on both shows they actually let the musicians step out and pick an instrumental. Usually it's all about the singer. But these shows mix instrumentals AND great picking breaks too. I record every single show(s). So many folks are missing this great stuff tho' as I understand that regular cable does not carry them?? What a shame. If you are one who does not get it and you really like good country music and Texas music, try and find someone with a dish to record it for you because you are missing some outstanding performances.....good luck

I liked it a lot, even if Ronnie doesn't sing as good as he used to. He had some great songs!

I miss RM, and many other entertainers of his generation who you don't hear much of anymore. I'm glad Marty remembered him. 8)

I agree with all the above; Ronnie can sure sing that good, hard-core country when he wants to! And yes..The Marty Stuart Show is the real deal; I love the fact that..along with "True Country"..you'll actually see the pickers whenn they take their instrumental brakes!

Hook, if you noticed Marty had an ear to ear grin at the end of the show and was elated that Ronnie Milsap was on his show. Stay tuned. There's more coming.

Patty Loveless is the one I will especially be looking for. What a fabulous voice!

Leroy, I agree. Patty Loveless has got that Kentucky real country voice. Seen her a number of times. Saw her with Emory Gordy on bass a couple of times. Monster band behind her with Pete Finney on steel. Lets get behind Marty Stuart and get this show moved to a solid hour. Tell us if we can help Paul and we will.

I think it will probably stay 30 minutes, because it seems to move better that way. I think everybody would get tired of seeing our ugly faces on there for a full hour anyway HA!!!!
Obviously, not my call about the duration of the show, so you never know what might happen between season 2 and 3.

BTW We are on the Opry @ 8 tonight in case you all stream WSM.

Sounds like there are some good shows in the coming weeks; Eddie Stubbs (if I heard right)..said that you all are taping a show with Ray Price? If so..that's great; looking forward to that one..and more! I'll hopefully get to hear you guys on the opry and..oh my..better get the television on so I don't miss this week's show!
