Pedal Steel on Classic Song
My first YouTube posting. This was shot with the HD Flip camera in low light. The guitar is a Desert Rose Vintage Pro - direct into a Steel Guitar Black Box and Ibanez Digital delay - into a vintage Session 400 with a JBL. Classic Song with only Drums, Bass, Acoustic guitar/vocals. (My middle name is Jim) Recorded at the famous Stockyard Inn during the Denver Stock Show 1/15/10. The band is called XTonePony from Colorado Springs. Thanks for taking a look.

Duncan,
Thanks very much for the kind words. I've been really happy with my Desert Rose Vintage Pro. Chuck built this one for me 2 years ago and it's been a great guitar. I've never had an issue with it at all.
Easy to play, easy to tune, easy to carry around and of course Chuck is such a great guy to deal with and outside of that he is also a monster pedal steel player and lead (6 string) player too. His brother Terry is also one of the finest Bass players a country band could hope for. Very musical family.
I've owned several guitars including a Clark - 3 Sho-Buds and 2 Emmons as a reference.
Life is short, we should own as many guitars as we can... maybe not all at once?

Randy, Thanks for the comments. I also remember another guy that recorded this song long before GS did, his name is Terry Safford... and he even co-wrote it with Paul Fraser. Notes from George Strait Box Set:...George and his band had been performing Amarillo By Morning around Texas for years. It was a regional hit and had been cut by several artist on independent labels. Blake Mevis heard Strait perform it and urged him to record it. It is a great song. You can check out Terry Safford's version here. http://www.youtube.com/watchv=ZvEvplTE0 ... re=related
