"That's Cool" with Vibes, Upright and Weissenborn

Post by Dan Schwartz »

A group I am in, The Neighborhood Trio fired up the mics the past couple rehearsals to demo some new music we are working on. We got a nice pass of this Curtis Mayfield inspired tune of mine called "That's Cool". I'd love for you to hear it.

That's Cool

Thanks,
Dan

Very cool. What kind of Weissenborn do you use?

Dan, that was great! So "cool" to hear the Weissenborn in that context with this mix of instruments.

That's really nice. Very listenable, engaging music. The Weissenborn sound fits perfectly in that ensemble.

Thanks for the comments.

Bryan, you asked about the guitar. Troy Marcio built it. He does amazing work. Here is a link to a previous thread with some pictures.

Chad, you asked about the tuning. It is open D. Everything I have done so far is in this tuning, but I have been working like crazy on getting a handle on C13. I can't wait to get it out on my Dual Pro with this group. I have been taking lessons with John Ely, both in person and through Skype for the past several months to work on this tuning. He is an incredible teacher - I have learned a ton from him.

Thanks Again,
Dan
