Winter Walkin ... Video Version.

Post by John H. McGlothlin »

I have loved this song ever since I first heard it back about 1973 by Chet Atkins. The song is called "Winter Walkin" and was written by the late great Jerry Reed. I did the song on the C6 tuning and the middle part on the E9th tuning. Here is the link to watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxUGiavkULM

WOW! John that is really nice. I can't play anything other than
a few good ole slow country songs, and your playing is different
and it's so nice to hear a style on the steel that no one else plays.
Hope you will post more of that fantastic picking for us to enjoy.

Thank you Carl and I'll say this. You have the down to earth Nashville sound in your steel playin, your smooth with that Emmons. I use an RV5 reverb unit but I need more sustain like maybe a digital chouras. You keep up the great work your soundin fantastic.

John, that is fantastic!I hear Chet here for sure. I believe this is the way he would have played it if he had played steel.

Hey John, Thanks a lot. I've never owned an RV5. Don't know what it is.
I use a Boss DD-20 Giga Delay. I love the clean delay, and it's stereo.
It sure makes my playing sound a little better, and covers some bad things.
I was using my old Session 500 and Nashville 1000 on the songs I posted.

Thanks Bent...I have always loved that tune. Carl the RV5 that I use is made by BOSS and its a reverb unit like the RV3 except the RV5 don't have the digital delay.

Thank you Georg. I have always liked that thumb style guitar pickin and the C6 tuning is perfect for that type of playin.
