I have a good friend who has a chance to buy a 1990 or 91 model black Emmons Legrande. It's a double neck 8x6, model LD10L. He is kinda wondering about how much they are worth and did they have any issues to speak of. I think they are offering to him for approx. $8000. Any input would be appreciated!

They are fine guitars, I have two, but 8000.00 is WAY overpriced. He can get one like that 2800.00 to 3500.00 if he waits and shops around.

$8,000 is absurdly high - great guitar, though. Clyde's estimate is spot on.

8000 should buy you two Legrande's and a good amp!

Yes, the price is way out of line. Good guitars though, no doubt about that. But if your friend is a first-time buyer, there are many fine guitars that can be had for less than half of that price.

Apparently the seller didn't have a clue on what it was worth. I think they are trying to work it out to match you gentlemen are recommending. You guys are great and I appreciate your input. My friend figured it was well overpriced be he had never priced them. Now he has some backing from you guys! Thanks!
