My Second Song ? Not my best
I worked on this for 2 days, and each time it started
to sound half good, I lost leg strengh and could't get
the pedals down all the way down, so try to overlook
some of the places it sounds like there a bad note or chord.
If I can work it out a little better, I'll repost it later.
Please don't be too rough on me.
Thanks, Carl

Carl, I listened intently. I could not hear bad pedal pushes. What I did hear was some pretty nifty pedal work at 3:57 (stills the thunder)
You still have it in you my friend. Keep putting them out. Got a cam? Put it on youtube as well

Hi Bent and Don.
Thanks for your kind words. I feel better now. I must have
recorded it 30 times today, and saved the 7 I thought were
the best, and I was worn out. So I was just listening to them
to find the best one. I wasn't going to list it, because I
wasn't satisfied with any of them, and I think I can do better.
When you really good players can enjoy my playing, it makes me
and I will post more.
Thanks again fellows, you are great.

Carl's version Of " Storms Never Last "

Carl : Just finished hearing your grand version of this song; I loved it very much; Certainly portrayed a Crying steel most efficiently; In my playing days this is what we classified as a " Tear-Jerker.. And you definitely full-filled that definition to a tea; don't be afraid to send us some more of these fine old songs.. nothing to be ashamed of one bit..Regards..Bernie

Roger: Many thanks, I just have to stay with it and try to improve more.
Larry: Thank you my friend, I spent hours writing to so many today, and
you know it takes me a lot of time to do simple things, so I didn't practice.
Tomorrow's another day, so I'll get back at it, and if ya'll keep asking
for more, I've got to practice more. I want you to enjoy what I play.
Thanks again,

Carl,
If you have a spare raise hole in any of the strings that you are raising with a pedal, ie strings 3 4 5 6 10, you could add a light helper spring, which would make pressing the pedals easier, without affecting the lowers.
I did just that when I had a Carter.
I didn't have to drill any holes, or make any permanent change whatsoever, but it sure made that baby play like butter.

Jim: Thanks again, I'm trying to get it together. Will try another soon.
Richard: Thank you. I don't quite know what you mean.
Should I put one end of the spring in a bell crank hole and attach
the other end to something else. Am I thinking right yet?
Thanks

Hi George, Thanks buddy, it's a very long and hard struggle to
have to start at the very begining again when your 70 years old,
but I'm dedicated and determined to get at least 1/2 as good as
I used to be, before everything in my life took a turn backwards.
Hi hope everything is going better for you now, and that you'll see
a full recovery very soon. Keep on picking, It's the best therapy.

Carl,
On my Carter, I hooked a thin diameter MIG welding wire, about 1/32" diameter stainless steel, into a spare raise hole.
Then I ran the wire from the changer finger, down the length of the steel, until there was enough space to hook an extension spring.
I hooked the other end of the spring to a redundant cross-shaft at the far end of the steel, furthest away from the changer.
Trial-and-error with multiple springs until I had got a sufficiently light pedal feel.
I haven't got any photos of the Carter, but its current owner, forum member James Martin, might be able to put some photos up.

Hey Larry, WOW!!! is what I say too. I can't beleive this.
These people are so wonderful. I've spent hours answering the
phone and writing E-mails. I haven't had any time to practice.
I didn't know I had so many wonderful friends, and I'm really
starting to feel better now than I have since you know when.
I can't say what this means to me, and Jean is excited too.
Our thanks go out to each and every one of you. God Bless all of you.

Hi Dave, I got your E-mail and sent one back.
I love hear anyone else play, it inspires me.
Just listened to your the songs you sent me,
and they are all great, I know I've got to get
more practice time if I want to sound that good.

Carl such a smooth sound
I listened to both of your songs tonight and I am just amazed at how easily you can stay on the tune with such ease. I know you did such a nice job playing in November when you came and played at my jam. You have really been hitting the 10 strings since also it looks like.
Now, I've got to go try to pick and see if I can play again. Thanks for sharing your good playing with us all!!!!

Carl, I just listened to that supurb rendition of "storms" and believe it was one of the finest versions I have heard (very pretty). I just had a partial knee replacement and know how frustrating surgery can be. Please keep up the great sounds and please post more. Al.

George: Thanks, I'm sure I could still enjoy listening to you.
It's terrible how we have to go thru some of the pitfalls in life.
I tried to work on a new song today, and couldn't push the pedals.
This is the thing that really bothers me the most when I practice.
Gary: Thanks buddy. I sure hope we can get together again soon.
Jean and I sure enjoyed it, and hope next time it'll last a lot longer.
Practice a lot, cause next time I'll try to steal a few licks from you.
Al: Many thanks, I hope you heal fast, and get back to playing again.
Hopefully, I be able to get another posted in the next few days.
Many thanks to all of you, I sure appreciate your comments.

Hey Dennis, Thanks my friend. I'm doing a little better now that I've
got a lower steel. That was done on the LG-II that I got last month.
It's easier for me to play, so I practice more now, and can enjoy it.
As soon as the shorter legs for the LG-III get here, I'll try that one.
It's harder for me to play, but I've got to try to get used to playing it.
Did you get the white LG you told me you were hoping to buy.
