Looks like I can make the Dallas show on Saturday.I probably won't get there till late afternoon. So
How late do the vendors usally stay open?
Does the evening show ever sell out-do I need to make an advance reservation?
I've never been to a big show-really looking forward to it.
Thanks

Most of the vendors will be open Sat afternoon and a lot will be open Satrurday night, but maybe not all. You don't need a reservation, but it's general admission so the seats right in front will be taken, but you'll still get a pretty good one.

Get a good nights sleep on Friday-you're gonna be up till 3AM!

And you're gonna be dry also because the bar closes at midnight, just when things are getting started.

That's why you go across the street to the mini mart and load up on beer to stash in your room for later!

Cya there Howard!

Hate to "douse yer candle" but the mini-mart across the street doesn't sell beer. That's a dry county. Believe me,I tried. Ya hafta go about 5 miles, either way,up the road.
BEER-DRINKER'S TIP:
If'n yer gonna buy beer to take back to the hotel,be sure ya DON'T buy cans or "stubbys".
Make sure they're "long-necks". If they see ya carryin' around anything but a "longneck",they'll stop you from drinkin','cause they'll know that you didn't buy it there. (y'all can thank me later by buyin' ME a beer. )

See what happened when I quit drinkin'? I forgot what's really important in life. Smiley's right, of course-and about the long neck thing too. I've seen folks get harrased about that myself. Gotta plan ahead for this show!

Here's a handy tip for us alkies, and it worked very well at the HSGC (ask Rick Aeillo)

....stock up on those little sample bottles of liquor. You know, the ones in the basket on the counter at the liquor store. They're fun, they're kooky, they're easy to carry around, and handy when you have a hankerin' for one. They're good on salads, in soups, on your pancakes, and did you know, they're a natural with grits?

Try it, you'll like it!

I've never had grits. I think, one day,I might try one. If I like it,I might get another one.
