Northwest Georgia Steel Guitar Show
Just want to remind everyone about the Northwest Georgia Steel Guitar show coming up February 14, 2010. I am in the process of getting everything in line. I do know one of our guest will be the great Mike Johnson. Many of you know Mike and know he will do some fine playing. An old friend of mine, Hank Corwin, will also be coming up to share his talent with us. We will also have many of our own player sharing the stage. As I get more in line I will share it on this post. Make plans to join us on that day. As alway you know we will have a great staff band. Keep a watch on this post and watch it grow into one fine show. Keep in mine that we do this for the Shriners Hospital for Burned and Chrippled Children. We play so they can walk. Jerry

I plan on being there if the good Lord is willing and my Ford cranks. Hey, Jerry since 14 February is also Daytona 500 Sunday, are you gonna have a TV set up so maybe some of us race fans can catch some of the 500? Also, I am planning to bring something to raffle off. Look forward to seeing everyone.

Steel Players can dance with Guitar Players, Piano players dance with Bass Players and Drummers dance with politicians.
You guys will have a great show as usual, just don't let Stowers near a mic.
If My Buddy Corky Tittle comes with Corwin, Don't Shoot him, He is OK, I think
YesWill there be a valentine dance after the show?

Atlanta Show
I just confirmed with my buddy, Jerry Braswell, that I will be at this great show again. I am looking forward to seeing all my friends again. I wish I knew how to dance, but I just can't do it, but I do understand that some of the steel players attending the show have studied Ball Room Dancing with Arthur Murray, so this should be a highlight of the show!

Bill, Although I could once glide across the dance floor without a single bone creaking, I have finally mastered the Osteo-bump, a feat I never dreamed possible in my 30's!!Bill Cunningham wrote:Herby, I think you misunderstood. Several of them, probably including the balding bespectacled drummer, have studied with Arthur Ritis.
Bruce - well, of course we will be there on our 11th Anniversary! Tommy promised to take me out to dinner after the show - probably to one of those fancy restaurants that cook the food right in front of you - Waffle House! Seriously, there's no place we would rather be than with our friends at a steel guitar show!! Bill, practice up on the Osteo-bump!!!

Just a reminder. Please note that another post has been made about the Northwest Georgia Steel Guitar Show. It list the players that will be playing. I know there are many great player, we would like to present more talent but the time is not there. We have talked about doing a two day show but could not generate enough interest to support a two day show. So, we are trying to present the best show we possibly can in the time we have to work with. In the future, as long as we get the support, we will try to bring different players to you. I am so thankful for all the player who are willing to give their talent to help us with the task of supporting the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Check out the other post. If you are a player and would like to play on one of our shows, please, when you sign in make a note you are a player and would like to be considered. Again thanks for your support and remember we play so they can walk. Jerry

Playin' with Hank and Ronnie
Having been away from my drums for so many years, I had ruefully accepted the fact that I would never play again, that I was a "has been" with nothing but memories of playing with the greatest bunch of people on the face of the earth. And I guess I was content with that,THEN.... totaly unexpected I stumbled into Hank Corwin's life, and he brought me back to life (Iguess is the only way to put it) and made me realize no matter what you do in life if you have been blessed with a GOD given talent it is always with you.
Hank, Ronnie Miley and I just started out kinda jammin' around, and something really special happened musically, when you are pulled into an environment with that caliber of musicians you find out quick whether you can still do it or not.
I just want to use this forum to thank all of the players I have talked with, and played with in the last year or so, for your encouragement, and support, and for allowing me to sit down on stage and play again.
God Bless.....Corky "Paradiddle" Tittle[/b]

Corky
I just must add that for my taste, Corky is one of the finest drummers I have worked with in a long time. He sat in with my on my set at the show in Gulfport MS last summer. After about 4 bars into the first song, I knew the groove was there. My old friend and bass player buddy, Ben Brogdon, used to say about any player, "you've either got it or you don't" and I must say that Corky still has it. I don't mean to be disrespectful to any other musicians out there, but all musicians were not created equal when it comes to playing music. I also must say that Hank Corwin's set in St. Louis last convention with Corky playing was one of the best I have heard in a long time. I worked several package shows with Nat Stuckey back in the seventies when Hank and Corky were working with Jim Ed Brown, so I was aware of their talent back then too. I hope to see everyone in Atlanta again next month.
