I've got a big gig planned. Kimberley will cook us a nice supper. Someone gave us a very expensive bottle of wine for Christmas. We'll probably drink a glass each, so the bottle will last for another year. I don't know the difference in cheap wine vs. expensive wine, except for the price. I have plans to spend most of the day and night in my studio working on a project that I've just started. At midnight I'll watch the ball drop on TV and kiss the wife and hug the dogs. New Years day will be more of the same along with the standard hog jowl, blackeye peas, cornbread, and onions.
Someone offer me a gig to play bass with a three piece band, drive two hours, start at 8:00 and stopping at 1:00. The money was good, but no steel and fiddles? ........Not interested. I referred it to a buddy that plays for a living, he's closer, and was available. Now everybody's happy.

Hey Rick,
Like you, I have a great night planned. Cindy and I are gonna have a nice dinner, watch Tennessee beat up on Virginia Tech, and stay up just long enough to wish each other a happy new year.
Over the years, I've played most New Years Eves, but a few years ago, the date fell through and I had a chance to see how uncrowded the golf courses are at 8 o'clock new years day. Unfortunately, it's gonna be about 28 degrees in the morning, so the golf is out.
For all of you working tonight, have a great time, play some great tunes, and be real careful driving home. I'll catch you another night.
See ya soon,
Jim
