Hi Doug, while I'm not a steelguitar player, I use SG on all my recordings. I love steel and have been lucky enough to have worked with some of the best. I Love your playing and was wondering where you recorded Tenderly?and I love the bass quality. What did you use for that? Denny
Thanks, Denny. I recorded it on my home computer using Audacity, which is a free software program. The bass and drums are band-in-a-box, and I added rhythm guitar (Strat). So the only "real instruments" are the steel and the rhythm guitar. The chain for the steel guitar goes like this:
steel --> black box (tube filter) --> Goodrich volume pedal --> Holy Grail Reverb --> into computer.
Thanks again for your kind comments, much appreciated!
Thanks, Dave. There is no outboard module, just the internal sound card in my PC. I have BIAB 2007. The BIAB style I'm using is WLZ~SLOW... bass, drums (brushes), and Pad-Warm strings mixed back quite a bit. I made a Wav of that track, ritard at the end, and imported it to Audacity. Then I added rhythm guitar, and the steel last.
Hi Doug : A perfect rendition on this lovely old Standard; I love your clean, smooth, and crstal clear pickin' on your twin neck Fender; which are beautiful guitars;I learned on a 400 Fender; which I loved a great deal. You do an excellent job in your C-6th Tuning.. Send us some more of these..Thanks for sharing..Bernie..
