Nobody's gonna say that the church organ is prettier than this.
You have proven again what a wonderfully versatile instrument the steel really is.

Hi Bent..
This was recorded using just a 'Mullen' Telonics smart volume pedal.. I received it yesterday. The steel was plugged into the pedal, then direct into the Logic 8 recorder. I started recording track #1. It sounded OK (just with a couple of mistakes which I then corrected by 'dropping in'. This is where the music does one thing and my hands do another, Ha! I then thought I would build up the track with harmony steel. I therefore added 1, then another, then one more etc..( 5 tracks of steel in total).. There is absolutely NO EQ added on any of the steel tracks. I was going to keep it all 'dry' but imagined playing in a church, and therefore ended up saturating each steel track with 'silververb' on Logic. (this is just a stereo reverb plug-in). I added this effect too on the church organ track.
Anyway, the project took about 1 hour, I was wanting to hear how the Mullen volume pedal sounded direct into Logic; my conclusion, 'Brilliantly'. Myself and Mark Dunn have been kindly given these pedals to see how they perform with his 'Steel Mixer'. Mark is making yhe power output available on the production models of the Steel Mixer in the future. I love all the adjustments available on the volume pedal, ie:- tensions, tapers, etc. I think the blue light from the volume pedal that illuminates the pedal bar is a great idea too.
I was also wanting to try out I-Movie on the I-Mac again also. As you can see, I am finding the 'Transitions'. It's all good fun.! Texas (the dog) is asleep here in front of the fire now.!

Wow, David, that is unbelievable. You hit a home run with this one for several reasons: Your "Church organ" in the background, was indeed so authentic; you made the lead steel mate so perfectly with the organ that you convinced me what a beautiful addition the steel is in a church setting.
Even the 'visuals' you produced with the blue light coming in on an angle...as if the sun was shining through one of those stained glass windows in the church.
One thing, and this is not a complaint: At the typical 'church organ ending' of the song I was waiting for the minor chord after the 4 chord before ending on the one chord.
I want to ask you again, if you have time for some Christmas tunes, that would be great as well!

David very nice, I've got some Backing tracks on some of the songs that I recorded on many years ago, if you would like to have a copy I'll send you a copy of them about twelve songs, I didn't like the way the guy mixed my steel so I never made any copies other than to some church members that wanted one.(Gospel songs)
I'll send the steel tracks also if you would want it.
These are made in the studio by me and another guy and Lee's daughter.
