The RE 200 is a high quality solid state amp. The closed back cabinet delivers a punchy bass response. I've been using one for the last year with a Rev Pre pre amp and have been very satisfied wth it. Small but powerfull. Hope this helps you Thomas. Don D.

Hi Don !

Thank´s for your reply. Yes, this helps me a lot.

I´m searching for a lightweight (back problems), powerfull and good sounding steelamp. And the Evans RE 200 is offered by a german steelbuilder with 220 Volt. And he says, it weights about 11 kilogramm.

What kind of steel did you play through this Evans, Don ?

Regards... Thomas

Thomas,

I`ve been using an RE200 for about 3 years. I like it a lot, especially the size and weight, it really has made my life easier...
The 10" speaker is not for loud C6 workouts but you can always add an ext cab.
I have JBL K110 in it now and the cabinet I sometimes use with it houses a JBL K120. Together with the 12" cab, the RE200 is loud enough for anything.
Most of the gigs I play the amp is miked so unless the band`s onstage volume is loud I more often than not just take the RE200 with the single 10".
The preamp on the Evans sounds fine, the reverb ok if you add a little delay. I usually use a tube pre amp and and outboard effects and plug into the effects return of the RE200.
Your back will thank you...

FWIW I play a U12 Williams

Hi Olli !

Thank you so much for your reply. Sounds good, what you tell about this little amp.

I don´t play C6, so this doesn´t matter for me. When I play gigs or practice with a loud band, I always mike my amps.

I have an old Evans Fet 500 LV and it sounds great. But I can´t carry it any longer, because I had a back operation this year. And I love my Webb 6-14 E, but this one is more heavy than my old Evans. It is my practice amp at home. Further I have a newer model Evans with 150 watt in a smaller cabinet. It sounds great to my ears too, and it weights about 20 kilo.

Warmest regards from Berlin to Finland... Thomas Cool
