That makes sense, because the characteristics of this guitar are definitely 1967-69, which wouldn't jive with the numbering scheme you have. Thanks for looking for me though. You're the man!
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

Gene,

Thanks a lot for doing this. I always thought it unlikely that the serial# system at Sho~Bud was totally random.... but there was no way to know for sure. I hate to add to the flood, but I am curious about my 2 LDGs # 4694 and # 5025. These both have the characteristics of the '73 LDGs.... . It would be interesting to know if the round fronts continued into '74
I also have a black single 10 # 8805 that I always suspected was a late '75

Thanks!

If you have any interest in publishing this information, I would be glad to offer some help on the digital end.

If #s 7000-8110 are part of an earlier number system, and those numbers are in a file folder that Gene does not have access to (as stated in the note in Gene's file), this implies that there WAS an earlier system, and someone must surely know about it, and maybe even have access to these file too!
This is great stuff Gene!

Thanks to Jimmie for starting this topic.

Gene, welcome to the forum.
I have a Sho-Bud Pro-1 model 6148, Serial number 8504, inspected by Duane Marrs. Can you determine the year it was made? My guess is 1975.

Thank you for all of your time and work in providing such valuable information about Sho-Bud history.

Hi Gene,
Many thanks for the info.
This is just about the fastest growing thread I have seen for a while! There must be still quite a few old 'Buds out there!

Many thanks anyway, regards to all,
Murray.

This is all very cool...the Rosetta Stone to dating Buds by their serial numbers. Joe said you'd be busy with this and he was right...
Ok... how about Super Pro 13838?
Thanks...

Thanks Gene. Kinda odd that it was shipped the same day it was built huh ? It couldn't have been played much if any before I bought it at a Thomas Organ Co in Jacksonville,AR in mid '74 . ** Thanks for the info . I was able to acquire a factory new old stock case a few years ago . It was still in the original shipping box. It has never been used as yet . :D

Gene,

As I have an older Sho-Bud, I'm curious who has the file with the serial numbers between 7000 and 8000?

Thank you,
