Topic: Tuning for double neck 6 string lap steel |

Many years ago, I played a double neck 8 string Fender. Thinking I would relive my youth, I just purchased a cheap double neck six string from eBay. Now I am faced with the dilemma of what tuning to use. Back in my 8 string days, I used C6 and E13. It looks like C6 is a good choice for one of the necks, any suggestions as to what to use for the other?

I think, for Basic~Tunings I might start with C6 & E7.
#2. E7 = B~D~E~G#~B~E
#1. C6 = C~E~G~A~C~E
There are quite a few variations available with these Basics!

I have one neck tuned to open E
low-high E B E G# B E If you need 7th, just drop the 4th E string to D.

I'd use C6 and E7 that John suggested.
If you put fairly heavy strings on the bottom of the E7 neck, you can tune down to open E. You can also tune the D string down to a C#, and then you've got a nice E6 tuning.
