Good Morning!

It is instrumental time this week. The clip is from 1978, with some hot pickin':

A great steel player who left us way too early. He built his own guitars and started out - I'm embarrassed to say that - on banjo, playing with various bluegrass groups (even did a concert with Bill Monroe one time!). Later on, he left the U.S. and resided in a far away country... :)

Kind Regards, Walter

The picture on the site of Tom and Bobby Caldwell. It is a sad reminder that both of these great people have left us now. We will enjoy their music for a long while now. They have left to be with our precious Lord. May they rest in peace. Larry Baker

Peter's right. It's gotta be Winnie...He left the US to live in New Zealand..and left us way too early.

Authorative picking. He chops off those notes as clear as a bell.

Yes, it is Winnie Winston, from his 1978 album "Steel Wool". I still read his "Pedal Steel Guitar" book which includes a wealth of information, not only for learning to play, but also how to approach the learning process.

Kind Regards, Walter
