To all the most caring people I've ever known:
We just got home from South Carolina, and I don't know if I'm more tired or numb, but, I didn't want to wait longer to thank every one of you for all the sincere prayers and loving thoughts that I know you've included my brother in for these many, many months.
Circumstances beyond all reason didn't allow us to grow up together, so the past year and almost three months was a Gift to Larry, Linda, and me to be able to spend almost every moment together, which we have cherished. In spite of the diabolical illness, we were blessed with more good times spent just loving each other than the painfully trying times spent fighting to keep the Cancer at bay. Once it finally figured out how to outsmart all of our efforts, he did not suffer long, I'm grateful to say. I never saw anybody fight harder to Live against such odds, though!
Larry came with us to St. Louis the year we did the Russless Show, and he met so many of you who treated him genuinely warmly and like a longtime friend, he never stopped referring to that experience as what drew him in to appreciating Country Music, and especially its Musicians, for the first time.
Thank you, thank you, for "who" you are "off stage", too. Your Friendships mean more to me than you know...
My Love and Gratitude Always,
Laney

Thank you for reminding me how good it is to be a part of this Family. I appreciate, so much, each of these embracing posts.
When you're dealing with what is nothing less than substantial losses, the "life" that "goes on" all around you, and that naturally demands your time and attention, becomes the thing that doesn't feel "real". The losses are definitely real and you feel "that reality" plenty.
Grieving is something we in this Steel Guitar Family are well acquainted with by now. And, sharing each other's sorrow is not only kind, but, it really does help to feel these sincere connections.
Lord bless you all,
Laney
