Totally "C00Ped" Sho Bud Pro II D-10 8+6 *CLOSED*
I need to thin the herd! .... With no gigs on the horizon, I can't justify keeping 3 steels around.
This is a Sho-Bud D-10 8+6 Pro-II that was totally re-built last year. If you are in love with the 'Bud sound, this is an essentially new guitar with an an undercarriage that surpasses anything Sho-Bud ever produced.
All of the old pot-metal parts were removed and replaced with NEW "Coop" parts.....including:
-- New E9th and C6th "Coop" Super-Finger changers w/ ball-bearing pivots
-- New Triple raise / Double lower bell cranks
-- New pull-rods
-- New Tear-Drop knee levers
-- 4 New legs
The guitar has had the front-panel refinished by Twelfth Fret of Portland Oregon (the original owner had one of those damned "custom made for..." plaques which was removed and re-lacquered).
It sounds great, plays like a modern guitar and has only been out of my non-smoking home only 3 times. It comes w/ an OEM case, which is also in great shape.
Copedent:
E9th pedals: standard Emmons set-up
C6th pedals: standard 4-8
LKL: 4th & 8th st (+1/2)
LKR: 4th & 8th st (-1/2)
LKV: 5th st (-1/2 )
LKL-C: C6th (duplicate 7th pedal to use w/ ped 5&6)
RKL: 1st st (+ 1) / 2nd st (+1/2) / 6th st (-1) / C6th 3rd st (-1/2)
RKR: 2nd st (-1 w/ half stop)/ 9th st (-1/2)
$3250.00 shipped to CONUS

Chris, I've noticed no weight change after the rebuild. If the Coop parts are heavier, it's only nominally so.chris ivey wrote:beautiful! is it true that the coop stuff adds weight? how does smoking hurt a good steel? just curious.
As far as smoking goes, it's a leading cause of knee lever disease and E9th-physema. ...... All kidding aside, some folks just do not like their instruments smelling of cigarette smoke. Others could care less.
Matt, I never truly want to sell any musical equipment, much less a pedal steel. Sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet and let things go.Matt Elsen wrote:Wow! That is one sweet looking 'Bud, Tony....
You sure you want to let it go? It's so beautiful!

Re: COOP-ed SHO~BUD
David, I haven't had any improvement in cell phone reception when playing the 'Bud , but I have started picking up a 1970's top-forty radio station based out of Tajikistan in several of my dental fillings.David Kellogg wrote:Tony, some say you get better cell phone reception around a steel with Coop parts, is that true?
Rick, Right now I'm interested mainly in selling, but let me think on it for a while....it that's OK.Rick Winfield wrote:I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S MORE BEAUTIFUL

Steve, have you ever been to any of the Portland Steel Jams?
If not, you should try and make the next one. For some reason, PDX has, not only a bumper crop of young steelers, but a boatload of older ones too. We get anywhere from 30-40 guys turn out for the events. Seattle guys like Dave Harmonson and Dan Tyak have made the trek southward.

Jim Underwood wrote has anyone seen a clear steel body
In or around 1977 I visted the MSA Steel Shop in Dallas and they had on the floor a clear plexigass steel, it was awesome. It was just a model to show you the workings of the steel. I only wish that I had it today, perhaps Maurice would know where it is today. jrrose0740@yahoo.com
