burning strings/flaming fingers

Post by Robert Szpuk »

Gee nobody mentioned my favorite, grounding to the gas pipe. I've always wondered how that one didn't burn the house down or blow it up. In the sixties I would play my hot solos in the dark on stage squeezing a welding lighter/sparking device while picking, very dramatic, I am much less dramatic in my sixties.

Since the (metal?) gas pipe is in the ground, I think a dead short from the hot wire would trip the breaker/fuse.
This harkens to the folks who warn about lighted cigarettes and gasoline. It takes a spark or flame to ignite gasoline, a lit cigarette will be snuffed out if tossed into a bucket of gasoline.
