The Bells of St Mary's ---> Listen -->

Post by Doug Beaumier »

Remember this tune? I've heard instrumental versions by Chet Atkins, Jerry Byrd, and Kayton Roberts... I'm sure there are many others out there. This is my version, basic melody. :)

Well, I will just have to come out and admit I'm old enough to know this tune, great stuff Doug, you keep finding these out of the way songs which are great to listen to, well played.

James.

Used to listen to Maybelle Carter's autoharp on a "live in studio" version. One of those simple melodies I like to play on PSG with bar "frozen" on one fret.
Nice version you have there.

Great playing of a great song. I remember seeing the movie sometime in late 40's.
Wow,... time flys when you're havin' fun....
Mullen D-10 8x5; Sho-Bud Super Pro D10 8x6; PedalMaster 5 Star SD-10 3x5; Dekley D-10 8x4;
Sho-Bud S-10 3x1; Fender Lap/Floor Steel; Peavey Power Slide; Supro Lap Steel; Peavey Nashville 400;
pair of Peavey Vegas 400's; Peavey NV112; Webb 614E with matching extension cabinet; Fender Twin Reverb and 3 cats.

They laughed when I sat down to play, cause' somebody pulled my chair away...

Thanks, guys. I remember seeing the movie on television back in the '50s. Later I heard Chet play the song, and it took a while for me to make the connection because the version in the movie is a much slower tempo.
