Temporary Test Site (BarSlide)
Here is a link to a temporary site that I am testing. It is a visual psg neck with a few goodies for learning different setups. I created this to learn and test some setups. I thought someone else might can use it too.
Please be advised that it was built for my own personal use and not for commercial purposes. If it becomes useful to enough players, I may try to perfect it. If you can use it, please feel free to play with it for a few days. The free site I am using will expire soon. This is all just for fun right now so please feel free to make any comments or ideas you think might be of interest. Please remember that it does not and was not intended to work in all os and browser environments so it may or may not work for you. Let me know which ones it does not work for and if and when I get some more time maybe I can make the adaptions.
It uses cookies to store personal setup changes so you will need to have cookies turned on to save any changes.
I use Internet Explorer version 8 and Windows XP, so it may not work perfectly with some browsers like FireFox, Opera, or Chrome.
I bought the domain name BarSlide.com, but it is justing pointing to a free development test site.
The best way to enter the site and be able to save your setup info will be to connect through this link.

A Help Manual link has been added to explain what each item does.
Thanks to the more than 100 users that have tried it and to those that have emailed me with the great ideas and additions.
For those that have not had any luck with saving your own tuning and copedent, remember that for now with the test site, you have to enter the site with the address "aspspider.ws/savell". Otherwise the cookies do not save your settings.

Richard,
Thanks for the rating.
I do not record any user information.
I do log the visit to the site and the value of the dropdown selection and the date.
I have no clue who has actually visited the site unless they have made a post.
Terry,
Thanks for the rating. I have changed the order of the rating values so that if someone hits the vote button first, it will default to [It's Great!] HA!HA! How about that for creative self glorification.
Steve,
Thanks for the compliment. I have reset the Help Manual link. Unfortunately, I overwrote the link when I published the rating option a while back.
It is there again now. Hope it helps.
Thanks to everyone that has visited the site. The response has been plenty and the majority have had positive experiences.
God bless,
Savell

Hey Richard,
That's cool. Nothing serious going on over here. I'm not even counting the ratings, just reading through the logs to get ideas of how to better the process. This is really just another fun project to help me understand web app development.
I am experimenting now with some ajax tools to try and smooth the look and feel for the users. I am hoping to add some help/tooltip features to guide the user through all the options available.
What's neat to me, is the tab reading portion that I haven't turned on yet. It is in the page and code but I have made it invisible until I can get it completed. It looks like we may be able to have the app read and/or write a tab file while letting the user scan through the tabs and watch the bar location and strings light up as you go. Too many bugs right now but I am hoping. My problem now is getting the time to work on it.
Thanks,
Savell
