Hi Marcia & Chuck, Anna and I will be there if we have not moved to North Carolina by then.I have one more thing that I need to say.I'm doing this on the forum so you know I mean what I'm saying.I Apologize to you and Chuck for my behaver. I have been very stressed out and I'm sorry for my actions.I'm now on Medication to calm me down.I have seen a big diffrence in my behaver. If I was going to be remaining in R.I. I would join RISGA again but I will see what happens if we get to sell here.

On October 11, 2009,26 days from now, the Rhode Island Steel Guitar Association will be having a blast playing, listening and dancing to some great music. Judgeing from the talent pool, I believe the music may run the gamut from Gospel to Jazz, Rock (maybe)but mostly good old traditional country music. It's sure to be a good time so mark it on your calendars!!
Tell all your friends!
My heartfelt thanks to Marcia Rodrigues who always gives it her best in making these shows possible.
By the way, thanks Sam for the bumps!!

Where has the time gone?
Seems like just yesterday we were planning last years show already it's time for another one! I'm looking forward to see how our members have improved over the last year. I was totally suprised at some of them last year and it made me get back to practicing a little more. Anyone missing this show will be missing another good one. Some of our players will be featured with their bands, WOW this should be good. Till Then. God Bless Roger

Well, it looks like I will be fly'n people around the Cranberry Festival in Wareham on Sat. and Sun. Weather was going to play a big part in whether or not I could attend the show in one form or another, but, workin' the festival kinda puts the brakes on that ! Hey, at least I will be getting a paycheck !!!

This looks like it's gong to be a great show. Four super bands and a slew of great players.
For those of you interested in hearing a little of Mike Ihde's playing check out the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association's web site - Quartley Newsletter Audio section. There's a great tune and short piece on the Leavitt Tuning.

Mike - Will you have copies of your 333 book?

My name is Jeremiah Hanley from Springfield, MO. I'm chaplain of the Ozark Steel Guitar Association in Branson, MO. It was good to read all the names of your players up there, and although I don't know any of them, we have a common interest in the steel guitar. Our steel guitar club isn't very old, but we're getting there. We have over a hundred members. At one time we had members in 40 different states and 8 countries. Terry Bethel is our ramrod. He plays for Mel Tillis and has for over 20 years. We meet bi-monthly at the Community Center in Branson, MO. We have 2 shows a year and we've had several Nashville pickers come play for us. I'm still amazed at all the interest there is in the steel guitar. It seems like we're all one big family which we do not know, but somehow we still feel connected. I think this steel guitar forum is a wonderful thing. Keep up the good work!!
