Been meaning to put this up since August but it got buried on my "to do" list.

Me and my bass player spent an hour on Sirius Radio a few weeks ago, where we played Hawaiian music on lap steel, talked about lap steel guitar, ate Hawaiian food, bunch of stuff.

But of interest to the forumites possibly is the following sound clip(mp3) where I am able to play and talk about the lap steel guitar and its influence on music today.

Here's the link on this page:

Hope you find it entertaining...

Josh

The only thing wrong was it wasn't a long enough clip. Nice work Josh.

Thanks for the comments, guys. And if you want more, I have an entire hour of the show (careful what you ask for Laughing )

But seriously, this was the only clip with lap steel. I sang and played uke for the other songs. Then there was lots of talking about Hawaii.

Josh,

It was great hearing you on Sirius Radio talking about Hawaii and Hawaiian steel guitar. Cool

It was much too short as Steve mentioned. Oh Well

Keep up the good work for Hawaiian steel in NYC and don't forget to visit the Hawaiian steel guitar
conventions in Joliet, Winchester, or Hawaii so that you can be exposed to more people in the Hawaiian steel guitar world. All would enjoy hearing you play and
you would feel right at home and meet new friends. Cool

Aloha no, Smile

Don Kona, Thanks, I really look forward to Joliet convention coming up, but it looks like I'm more likely to be available for the Hawaii location instead (when's that one happening?).

And George, the radio show was on Stars Too, which is Channel 108.

Josh,

The HSGA Convention in Hawaii occurs every other year.
The convention was held this year and the next convention is 2011, the last week in April.

Your best opportunity is Joliet 2009 or 2010 or Winchester next year. The Winchester special guest from Hawaii will be extra special. Cool It will be announced in the near future. Keep tuned you will not want to miss it.

Aloha, Smile

Don, Thanks for the info, I'll keep a lookout for the Winchester announcement. (I wonder who it is? Question Smile )

Ironically, I may be in the Chicago area for a gig a week before the HSGA! Bad timing Laughing

If things don't pan out with my sched, can I come at the last moment???

Josh

Of course you can, Josh. You probably could not play on the regular scheduled program because it would be full. However, some person may not show because of illness, etc. then a spot might be available.

Playing on the program does not matter to some folks, because they like to jam in the all night jam sessions anyway. Just think, you could do all night jamming and have so much fun.

Aloha, Smile

Very Happy
On the contrary, Don. There are still playing spots available on Thursday, October 8 at the HSGA Joliet Convention.
All we need is a registration by U S Mail.

Here's more live music from the show, although there's no steel guitar content in it, just thought some of you may enjoy this, which features an arrangement of the classic Hawaiian song Panini Pua Kea with myself singing, ukulele strumming and my bass player Jorge on acoustic bass

Hope you enjoy,

Josh
