Check this out:

It is a curious visit with Shot Jackson in his store. In the foreground is a beautiful old 'bud that he refers to as "the monster". It has double strings (20 strings) on the top neck and 10 on the bottom. I assume it is like a 12 string guitar.

I have never heard of such a thing- have you??? Anybody know of any recordings featuring this? He mentions that Jimmy Day and Pete Drake have one.

Imagine the crazy setup on this thing. I guess that he used a single finger for pulling two strings on the thinner strings, but on the lower ones, it would have to be like a 12 string, and the 2nd string is an octave higher. So, I assume that you would need a finger for each. What a nightmare!

I found that this topic has been discussed here already- sorry about the redundancy.
